LIOS conducted the entire medicinal chemistry program for CerSci Therapeutics, constructing a non-opioid platform for the treatment of pain. LIOS researchers discovered and confirmed a key chemical rearrangement as a way to synthesize the lead molecule, as well as develop a rich SAR (Structure Activity Relationship) to enable the selection of a Development Candidate. CT-044 progressed into human clinical trials paving the way for acquisition with a 52.5M upfront payment in 2020.
